Emergência de saúde pública pelo novo coronavírus: revisão bibliográfica

Resumo


O novo Coronavírus, responsável pela pandemia denominada COVID-19, é um vírus de RNA de fita simples pertencente à família dos Coronaviridae identificado em morcegos da espécie Rhinolophus affinis, encontrados em Yunnan, na China e que, desde dezembro de 2019, tem causado uma doença cujos principais sintomas englobam febre, tosse, mialgia, fadiga, tomografia computadorizada torácica anormal, e em casos mais severos, pode levar à morte. Tendo em vista a rápida proliferação do vírus e a escassez de dados, o estudo teve como objetivo realizar uma revisão bibliográfica a respeito dos principais aspectos da caracterização do vírus, combate e atuação da saúde pública. Para isso, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica exploratório que incluíram artigos de 2006 a 2020 em bases de dados tais como, PubMed, WebofScience, Embase, LILACS e Medline. Conclui-se que o vírus possui capacidade de contágio maior que o SARS-CoV e o MERS-CoV, suas principais formas de contágio são por gotículas e contato direto com superfícies contaminadas. A propagação do vírus representa um grande desafio para a saúde e para economia, tendo em vista que ainda não existem tratamentos com eficácia comprovada.
